Join us for a concert from Fraser Fifield, University of Edinburgh, Celtic/Scottish Studies, Traditional Artist in Residence, as part of his final project in the role. Fraser has assembled an arrangement of the Inchcolm Antiphoner, Scotland's oldest known musical notation. The Inchcolm Antiphoner is a manuscript of songs in praise of Saint Columba, composed on Inchcolm island around the year 1340. Fraser has arranged it to be performed by a quartet of saxophones, including himself (soprano sax), along with Sue McKenzie (alto), Martin Kershaw (tenor), Allon Beauvoisin (baritone). Doors open for this event from 7pm, with music beginning at 7:30pm. There will also be an intermission. Please note that Reid Concert Hall does not have a bar or refreshments for sale inside.
